Supporting our community and charities

The Birmingham International Tattoo is renowned for its commitment to supporting youth bands and local groups. The 2026 event featured the National Marching Band, the Massed Pipes and Drums, cadets, plus dancers from eleven youth dance schools, providing young musicians and local performers with a platform to showcase their talents alongside international performers. In 2027 we will continue to support local organisations.

The Birmingham International Tattoo is also known for its commitment to supporting charitable causes and for the 2027 Tattoo we are partnering with the Army Benevolent Fund to donate £1 for every ticket sold to the charity. In addition, the 2027 event will support two main charitable causes, with a retiring collection at the end of each performance raising funds for Troop Aid (Saturday performance) and the Army Benevolent Fund (Sunday performance). In addition, a portion of the proceeds from souvenir programmes sold at the venue will also be donated to these charities, further emphasizing the Tattoo's dedication to community support.

Through these initiatives, the Birmingham International Tattoo fosters community engagement and provides valuable opportunities for youth bands and local child groups to perform in a prestigious setting.

In addition, the Tattoo features displays such as the Parade of the Massed Standards, with over 60 standard bearers representing various veterans' associations, including the Royal British Legion. This participation highlights the event's dedication to honouring and supporting the veteran community.

Through these initiatives, the Birmingham International Tattoo demonstrates a strong commitment to veterans' organizations, providing both financial support and public recognition of their contributions.
